already spending 2 hours setting up a bridge between a belkin and a sitecom wireless router. Why the f%%$#@ isn't it working. Do both routers need to support bridging? Or is it enough for one to support it. Does it matter if the one with bridging capability serves as a WAN router or not

Ed, i went through the same thing the other night
Only the "receiving" router that is acting as the "bridge" needs to have the capability.

Where I kept running into problems was with the wireless security. i disabled it (against my better judgement) and got everything working just fine

Make sure that the bridge isn't on another SSID, or acting as a secondary DHCP server...that can add to the complexity too.

I made sure that i wired the bridge to the router first to make sure it was capable of receiving IPs and connecting through the WAN, then unplugged and did troubleshooting on the wireless.

this is for extending a network right? i was just going through the admin for my Netgear routers as i have them working this way and the crazy thing is i can't find any settings related to this at all. i know it took me a while to get it working properly when i initially set it up but now i have no idea how it's working. great!

I somehow can't disable the WAN on the router acting as a bridge client. I need to do that right? I switched of the dhcp / set the sames SSID / security settings and channels. Thing is I can't find a way to set the gateway on the router acting as a bridge client. That is so weird. I can set a fixed ip for the router but not the gateway. huh?

i thought i read something about potential problems between different brands back when i was setting up my network. like they both need to support the same type of repeating or something like that. i've done it with both netgear and apple networks but never with mixed brands. i was also talking a while ago with someone who was trying to use one of the apple airports to extend a linksys and i guess that doesn't work.

genre's are so strange. i find myself not caring about it in the end, but what makes a song techno or house or whatever?

who decides? the artist?

how lame are coins guys? i pick up a juice at the store and pay with cash and they give me a pile of coins as change. i would have preferred they rounded it up! keep the coins guys, i've got an iphone in my pocket, i don't want coins in there scratching it up! gawd! i'm going to open a convenience store where everything is rounded to the dollar - no coins involved. that is my idea of convenience.

Thanks Mike. The main business of our company is Mobile content services. Via subscription or non subscription (The annoying win an iPad / iPhone, take the IQ quiz etc). We also support broadcast companies with sms voting (american idol type of voting) / sms sweepstakes. We do this in over 30 countries I think We promote our services on the internet (landing pages), mobile web, iPhone, social Media sites like facebook and TV. We make these promotions ourselves so we've build up the skills for web, mobile and Video for TV. When we don't need the people for internal stuff we pick up external web dev, iphone app and video production work. Since there is a lot of pressure on our sms business we are looking for new things to do in the future. It is not clear yet which way we are going i'm now working on a strategy for the future. There are also a bunch of spin off media companies is our group that do all sorts of different stuff (Media Buying, Sports Management Games, SEO, affiliate network etc etc)

My mom's birthday was a few days ago and I went by her grave that day as I have done the past couple of years. It's definitely a surreal thing and it's hard to process. It has gotten easier over time though.
